You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.– Steve Jobs
Hello my lovely readers!
If we look 6 years back in time we would find a 17 year old Anaïs who started being deeply in love with reading. I was so into it that I started collaborating with two publishing houses, so they sent to me free books and in exchange I just had to write an honest review.
The first book I received was called simply ‘STEVE JOBS’ and obviously I knew who was he, but never heard about his personal story. Nowadays I consider that book the most inspirational one I’ve ever read. (And the publishing house was so in love with my review that they shared it on social media, everywhere! It was my first published job).
The book was written based on a speech he did in Stanford in 2005 (link to the speech) where he talks about three stories of his life. Three inspirational moments about ‘connecting the dots’ that literally blew my mind.
I deeply invite you to watch it now. It is a 15 minutes video, but those 15 minutes changed my life, and maybe it can change yours too.
We never know how life is going to work, but, a powerful message that is in that speech is trust yourself. Make the decisions you want to make, follow your heart no matter where, if you feel it in your heartbeats just do it.
We only see the connections when we go back in time and connect all the dots, and then we can affirm how real our intuition was, how powerful our feelings and impulses are.
And is very important that, as Jobs said, we don’t let the noise of others distract us from our purposes. We have just one life, and is worthy enough to follow our dreams. No matter how big or small they are. We don’t have to let people stop us from it, because we are all born as free spirits, and the heart knows always where to go, even if our insecurities say ‘danger danger’…. Nothing can stop us ♡
It took me lots of years to interiorise this powerful message as I was always worried about disappointing people, but never paid attention to what I had to do in first stage was to not disappoint myself.
I really hope with all my heart Steve Jobs’ speech can click something in your soul and gives you the strength to follow your soul till the end, because that’s the purpose of life, to live fully true to ourselves.
The last words I want to say, are the last words Steve said on his speech:
‘Stay hungry, Stay foolish’
Lots of love,
Anaïs Rose ♥︎
